When you want a website, not a server
Shared hosting puts your site on a managed machine with a control panel, mail, backups and updates handled. It is the right answer for a company site, a shop that is starting, or anything where the point is the site rather than the stack. WordPress, e-commerce and e-mail plans are all shaped from this family.
- Plesk control panel, mailboxes and databases included
- Patching and platform updates are ours
- A free plan exists, with no card required
When you want root
A VPS gives you a virtual machine with root and a dedicated IP. A VDS reserves the cores and memory rather than sharing them, which is what you want when performance has to be predictable. A dedicated server is the whole physical machine. All three are yours to configure, and the licence for a control panel on top can be billed with them.
- Root access and a dedicated IPv4
- NVMe storage, DDR5 memory
- Control-panel licences billed on the same invoice
What you get either way
- Free Let's Encrypt certificates, issued and renewed automatically
- Hosted in Germany, under GDPR
- Final prices with no VAT added, under § 19 (1) UStG
- Cancellation without calling anyone, at /kuendigung/
Which family you need depends on the site, not on the price: a busy shop on the wrong plan is slower than a quiet blog on a smaller one. If you are not sure, the migration team will look at the current site and say which plan it actually needs — including when that is a smaller one than you asked for.
