Domain Names

A domain is the one piece of a website you cannot rent back later, so it is registered in your name and it stays yours whether or not the hosting stays with us. Twelve extensions are live today, and on every one of them the price to register, the price to renew and the price to transfer are the same number.

Open Hostna

from €9.99 / year

Final price — Hostna is a small business under § 19 (1) UStG, so no VAT is added.

The search, the full price list for all twelve extensions and the order flow are on the domains screen of the desktop.

THE PRICE THAT MATTERS

The second year, not the first

The domain trade runs on cheap first years and expensive renewals: a name registered for one euro renews for thirty, and nobody notices until the invoice. We do not run that model. Every extension we sell renews at what it cost to register, and both numbers sit next to each other in the search before you order.

  • No introductory price that expires
  • Transfers cost a year, at the same rate
  • The figure you see is the figure you pay — § 19 (1) UStG, no VAT added
WHO HOLDS IT

Your name on the registration

You are the registrant. That is what makes a domain portable: you can move it to another provider, point it somewhere else, or sell it, without asking anyone. If you ever want to leave, the authorisation code is yours to request and we do not slow it down.

  • You are the registrant of record
  • Authorisation code on request
  • Registrar terms published at /domain-registration-terms/

Registry rules, not ours, decide some of this: a few extensions require a local presence or documentation, redemption after expiry carries a registry fee, and a newly transferred domain cannot be transferred again for 60 days on most gTLDs. The domains screen names any such condition on the extension before you order it.
