The five statements you confirm at checkout, in full, with what each one means.
No order can be placed on Hostna without confirming each of the statements below. This page is the same text, outside the checkout, so you can read it without a cart open.
Why the order button is gated
A hosting order commits capacity and money within seconds of being placed, and it takes on obligations in both directions that are hard to unwind. Two of them are worth reading twice: a provisioned digital service is not refundable, and the security of what you put on it is yours.
Rather than bury that in a link nobody opens, the checkout asks you to confirm each point individually. The order will not go through until you do — and not only in your browser: an order arriving at the server without a complete and current declaration is refused there too.
What is recorded when you confirm: which statements you accepted, the policy version in force, the date and time, your IP address and your browser identification. It is stored with your order and you can see it in the Client Area. Why we keep it is explained in section 7 of the Privacy Policy.
1. The contract documents
I have read and accept the Terms of Service, the Acceptable Use Policy, the Shared Responsibility policy and the Privacy Policy, and I understand they form part of this contract.
These four documents are the contract. The Terms of Service set out the service, the billing and the liability position. The Acceptable Use Policy sets out what may not be done with it. The Shared Responsibility policy sets out which side of the line each risk falls on. The Privacy Policy sets out what we do with your data.
2. Immediate provisioning, and the withdrawal right
I expressly request that Hostna begins providing the service immediately, before the 14-day withdrawal period ends. I know that I lose my right of withdrawal once the service has been fully provided, and that a provisioned digital service is not refunded.
This is the statement that decides whether you can get your money back. German law gives a consumer 14 days to withdraw from a distance contract, and lets that right end early only where you asked for performance to begin at once and acknowledged the consequence — § 356 (4) and (5) BGB. You are asking, and you are acknowledging. If you would rather keep the withdrawal period, do not confirm this and do not order. Full detail is in the Cancellation, Withdrawal and Refund policy.
3. Security, backups and data loss
I understand that Hostna provides infrastructure and does not sell security. My content, applications, updates, credentials and backups are my responsibility, and Hostna is not liable for data loss, compromise, defacement or attack on my side of the shared responsibility line.
No part of what you pay is a fee for protecting your website, monitoring it for compromise, cleaning it afterwards, or guaranteeing that your data survives. Keep a current backup somewhere that is not Hostna, keep your software patched, and protect your credentials. Where the line runs, item by item, is in the Shared Responsibility policy; what liability remains is in section 11 of the Terms of Service.
4. What the service will not be used for
I will not use this service for intrusion, attack tooling, malware, phishing, spam, cryptocurrency mining, pornography, gambling, the sale of controlled substances, or any unlawful content. I understand that a breach means immediate termination without refund, blocking of my IP addresses, refusal of further accounts, a report to the authorities, and a claim for damages.
The full list, and the enforcement ladder behind it, is in the Acceptable Use Policy. Two points that are not negotiable: material depicting the sexual abuse of a child or a non-consensual sexual act is reported to the Bundeskriminalamt immediately, with no warning and no appeal; and cryptocurrency mining is prohibited on every plan, paid or free.
5. Who you say you are
The name, address and payment details I have given are true, current and my own. I am not using a false identity, someone else's details, or additional accounts or email addresses to obtain a service — including a free plan.
One Free Hosting plan exists per person and per household. Signing up repeatedly under different email addresses, or with details that are not yours, voids the account on discovery and may be reported where a service of value was obtained by deception. See sections 12 and 16 of the Terms of Service.
Changing your mind before you order
Not confirming is a complete answer. Nothing is charged, the cart stays where it is, and you can read the Terms of Service, the Acceptable Use Policy, the Shared Responsibility policy and the Cancellation and Refund policy first.
Version
The declaration in force is version 2026-09-14. When it changes substantively you are asked to confirm the new version at your next order; a consent given for an earlier version is not carried over.
